Joel Silverio, born in the Dominican Republic, has distinguished himself across multiple artistic fields, becoming a versatile and recognized figure both in the Dominican Republic and the United States.

He began his career as an exclusive model, participating in advertising campaigns for renowned brands such as Ray-Ban and Orange RD, and appearing in countless television commercials for major companies like Cerveza Presidente, Ron Barceló, Shell, among others.

At the same time, he developed his path as a professional dancer, becoming a member of the Contemporary Ballet of the National School of Fine Arts, and serving as a Hip Hop and Jazz instructor at the Ritmos dance school (now ECOS Espacio de Danza). He also represented the Dominican Republic in various countries as part of the artistic team of the Ministry of Tourism.

He later entered his musical chapter by joining Grupo Negros, the most successful ballad group in the Dominican Republic. With them, he left an important legacy in Dominican music, performing on iconic stages such as Altos de Chavón, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Shea Stadium, and the Centro Olímpico, among others. After the group’s separation, he became part of Sin Secretos, a musical group that received a Premios Casandra nomination for Best New Artist.

Following this stage, Joel moved to the United States, where he expanded his career into communications, excelling in radio, television, hosting, and live entertainment.

He is currently the face of the Latino market for Compare Foods TV, has starred in national commercials for various businesses across the Carolinas, and has appeared as a panelist on American shows such as WCCB News Rising.

In 2024, he achieved a historic milestone by becoming the exclusive Latino in-arena host for the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets, making him the first Latino—and specifically the first Dominican—to hold this position within such a prestigious and influential sports platform. Each season, Joel brings his energy and talent to audiences at the majestic Spectrum Center, solidifying his presence on a national level.

With a multifaceted career spanning modeling, dance, music, and communication, Joel Silverio is widely recognized as “The Microphone Artist.”
